Unicorn Horn Headbands

Unicorns!

Unicorns are a big obsession for kids at the moment (although... haven't they always been?). The kids at the library are VERY excited about this upcoming craft, and it's insanely easy to make.

You just need a piece of stiff felt, a plain plastic headband or ribbon, some scissors, a stapler, and extra ribbon/fabric paint/something for decoration.

Ready for these crazy simple instructions?

Step 1. Roll the felt into a cone shape. You want to shape it until you end up with an overlapping  point on one side, and a smooth edge around the rest of the bottom.

Step 2. Staple the felt into place on the back (non-pointed) side.

Step 3. Cut a small hole on either side of the cone. You can do this with a pair of scissors, or with a very sharp hole punch.

Step 4. Decorate the horn how you like. For this one, I simply tucked a piece of ribbon into the space between both layers of felt, and wrapped it around the horn. Once I got to the bottom, I folded the ribbon so that it went inside of the cone, and secured it with tape. You could also decorate with fabric paint, yarn, glitter, or any other items you wanted... or you could leave the horn plain.

Step 5. Thread the plastic headband (or ribbon) through both holes at the bottom of the cone. If you use ribbon, simply tie it at the base of the back of your head when you put it on. You could also add felt ears to either side of the horn for additional cuteness.

See? Easy!
